Home Remedies for Premenstrual Syndrome, PMS Natural Remedy



PMS or premenstrual syndrome are set of symptoms which a woman experience before 5 to 11 days of periods, many woman experience these troubling symptoms and home remedies for PMS are very useful ways for treating and relieving these symptoms safely. Though almost every woman experience some changes before the beginning of menstrual cycle but PMS are limited to consistent pattern of emotional and physical symptoms which are of sufficient intensity to disrupt normal routine of life and a woman experience these only in luteal phase of menstrual cycle. Aloe vera juice is one of the effective home remedies for PMS. Take 4-5 leaves of aloe vera and crush the leafy pulp to extract out the juice. Take 4-5 teaspoons of this juice and mix it with two teaspoons of honey and consume the mixture twice in a day for 40 days regularly. This works as one of the wonderful home remedies for premenstrual syndrome and provides long lasting relief from the problem.



Prepare a cold infusion with lemon grass, mix this infusion with black pepper and consume in the dosage of 2 ounces to 4 ounces depending upon the severity of the symptoms. This is another one of the effective home remedies for PMS.

Mix small amount of jaggery in a glass of warm water, later add 5 grams of Ajwain or Bishop's weed to the mixture and stir the mixture for few minutes. Later consume this mixture, repeat this remedy two to three times in a day and regularly for two months. This is one of the oldest home remedies for premenstrual syndrome and controls and relieves the symptoms very effectively.

Dandelion roots are old and one of the trusted home remedies for PMS. Dandelion roots possess excellent diuretic properties which increase urine flow without depleting level of potassium in the body. It also helps liver to discard estrogen which provides very effective treatment to the problem and is recommended as one of the trusted home remedies for premenstrual syndrome. The dosage of the roots shall be worked out with the help of an expert.

Pumpkin seeds tea is another one of the useful home remedies for PMS. Take 40-50 grams of pumpkin seeds and pour a glass of hot water, let the mixture sit for 20 minutes, take the seeds out after straining and drink the remaining water, one can add a teaspoon of honey for taste. Repeat this remedy twice in a day for effectively alleviating the problem.

Add a pinch of black pepper to one tablespoon of aloe vera gel and consume once in a day. Adding cumin seeds in place of black pepper is also beneficial for relieving PMS. Cinnamon tea is also recommended for women suffering with PMS. Both of these work as useful home remedies for premenstrual syndrome.

Soak a towel in hot water and wring it to let the excess water flow out, apply this towel on the abdominal region for few minutes, moist heat works well for treating the problem. Repeat the treatment few times in a day for effectively relieving the symptoms. Applying ice packs also works very well for curing the problem. Both of these are effective home remedies for premenstrual syndrome.

Consume oatmeal, pasta, avocados, bananas, cherries, chicken, turkey, fresh fruits, whole-grains and green vegetables in abundance for relieving the symptoms. Cut down alcohol intake to minimum and stop caffeine, beverages and sugar intake for effective alleviation of the problem. Eat smaller meals few times in a day rather than consuming two large meals. Drinking plenty of water and keeping body hydrated also supports the system for countering hormonal fluctuations to avoid PMS symptoms. Mild exercises particularly few yoga poses are excellent exercises for treating the problem of PMS. Shalabhasana, Ardh Shalabhasana, Sarvangasana, Ardhmatsyendrasana, Pashchimottanasana and Trikonasana are excellent exercises for relieving the symptoms of PMS. Mild walking or brisk walking three times in a week is very useful for keeping system in proper functioning to avoid symptoms of PMS.
